Adds 64K bytes of RAM to give the ADAM system a total of 144K
Random Access Memory. It increases the workspace capacity of
SmartWRITER word processing by 64,000 characters ... a full 32
pages of double-spaced text. It's a "card" that plugs directly into a slot
beneath the access door of the Memory Console. Once it's in place,
users can run more complex programs. The Memory Expander will
increase the impressive power of ADAM, and add immeasurably to
versatility.

Updated software revisions for SmartWriter usuallt to bring up to Revision 80 without having to replace EPROMS on mother board..

For European ADAMs, Coleco provided "language cards" which had French or German versions of the SmartWriter ROM word processor, including alternate graphics character sets for use with corresponding daisy wheels for the ADAM printer. Three electrical signals necessary to access these language cards are not implemented on ADAMs built for North America.

The EXPAnDDR board adds a BOOT PROM socket, a parallel port, and a memory expansion board addressor port to your ADAM computer.

This is a cost-reduced design for users who want to experiment with available BOOT PROMs, diagnose a faulty ADAM computer, use a parallel printer, or need a cheap memory addressor for expanded memory.

More information on the EXPAnDDR board as well as boot PROM images can be found at Eric Pearson’s GitHub project page

at https://github.com/epearsoe/EXPAnDDR.

The Coleco ADAM Multipurpose Interface Board.

Features:

  • Replaces the serial port connector with an integrated WiFi modem for up to 19.2k baud.
  • Terminal port for external 80 column support.
  • Parallel port for printer.
  • Boot PROM socket.
  • Memory expander signal for memory expander cards over 64K.

The Multipurpose Interface Board (MIB238 board) is a redesign of the Micro Innovations MIB3 board that only requires 5 volts using modern MAX238 transceivers. The MIB238, like the MIB3, adds a BOOT PROM socket, two RS-232 ports, a parallel port, and a memory expansion board addressor port to your ADAM computer.

We now have the ability to create new tapes with true digital formatting for the Coleco ADAM! You will no longer have to hunt down and spend a ton of money trying to procure a seemingly impossible to find MEGACOPY III by Trisyd back from 1987.

Note: You need two DDP drives in working order to use this device.

Features:

  • Small 1-7/8”x1-7/8” PCB that adheres to the inside wall of the console just to the right of where the DDP connectors go that stays totally hidden from view. The console top cover will need to be removed to access the momentary button switch to ENABLE/DISABLE the device when needed.
  • The status LEDs and button are placed at the top for easy access.
  • Improved design by using a small 8-pin PIC microcontroller to handle the control logic in place of the discrete logic the original design had.
  • Simple, low-cost momentary button enables/disables the device in place of the expensive SPST push (not toggle) switch of the original and also controls both status LEDs.
  • Includes the MEGACOPY REDUX interface

Mr. Charles Mouse's 8Mb (1MB) memory card for the Coleco ADAM.  This one is very cool in that it has a battery backup, so if you are using it for a RAMDisk, the contents will stay as long as the battery has power!

Mr. Pearson's Multi-Interface Board 238. To be clear we did NOT design them, we only build them for you to use.  As described on the GitHub Website:

The Multipurpose Interface Board (MIB238 board) is a redesign of the Micro Innovations MIB3 board that only requires 5 volts using modern MAX238 transceivers. The MIB238, like the MIB3, adds a BOOT PROM socket, two RS-232 ports, a parallel port, and a memory expansion board addressor port to your ADAM computer.

We have made them in the following varieties:

MIB238 version 5:  Gives you everything as described above.

MIB238 version 7: Gives you everything as described above AND a WiFi adaptor.  It is programmed with Modem software.

You also may choose to add on a BOOT EPROM
