Fly fast, fly low, bust through barns!
An enhanced ColecoVision conversion of the Atari 2600 classic Barnstorming by Activision. Pilot your biplane at breakneck speed through barns, past windmills, and around obstacles in a race against the clock.
The original Barnstorming challenged players to fly through a set number of barns in the fastest time possible while avoiding flocks of geese and other hazards. BarnBuster brings this speed-run classic to the ColecoVision with enhanced graphics, smoother scrolling, and the visual detail that the ColecoVision's TMS9928A graphics chip makes possible.
Four skill levels test your reflexes: fly through 10, 15, 20, or 25 barns as fast as you can. Every second counts!

Barnstorming holds a special place in Atari 2600 history as one of the earliest "speedrun" games — the entire objective was completing the course in the shortest time possible. Activision even awarded embroidered patches to players who could fly through all 25 barns in under 33 seconds and mailed in a photo of their TV screen as proof.
The game was designed by Steve Cartwright, who also created Megamania and Plaque Attack for Activision. Cartwright was known for pushing the Atari 2600's limited hardware to produce smooth scrolling and colorful graphics.
BarnBuster preserves that time-attack spirit while giving the game the visual upgrade it deserves on the ColecoVision's superior hardware. The name change to "BarnBuster" gives this version its own identity as a ColecoVision-exclusive enhanced port.
