BEHIND THE SCENES

The original Head to Head Hockey handheld was part of Coleco's hugely successful line of electronic sports games released between 1979 and 1982. These handhelds were among the best-selling electronic games of the early 1980s, competing directly with Mattel's similar offerings.

The Head to Head series was unique because of its face-to-face design — two players literally sat across from each other, each with their own set of controls built into opposite ends of the same unit. No screen-sharing, no split-screen — true head-to-head competition.

Recreating these games for the ColecoVision brings the experience full circle: Coleco's handheld games reborn on Coleco's home console, nearly 45 years later.
